Liverpool Echo are breaking new that Divock will be brought in this month :-) yes ....and it appears Origi will be returning to Anfield sooner than was anticipated: (Liverpool Echo)- Quote:
-
Liverpool FC look set to reach an agreement with Lille to bring striker Divock Origi to Anfield this month.
The Reds signed the young Belgian frontman for £10million last summer but under the terms of the transfer they sent him back to the French outfit on a season-long loan. However, with Brendan Rodgers ' side in desperate need of more firepower in the second half of the campaign Liverpool have sought to move forward his arrival.
The Reds are prepared to pay up to £3million to secure Origi's services six months earlier than planned.
No deal is yet in place with Lille but the initial discussions have been encouraging and Anfield officials are confident they will reach a successful conclusion. Origi is desperate to begin his Liverpool career after enduring a torrid campaign in France.

Divock injured ...might not as bad as it first appeared:- Quote:
-
Divock Origi underwent an MRI scan at Lille today for a groin injury. The 19-year-old striker who joined Liverpool last summer but was loaned back to his former French club was spotted holding his groin at the end of Lille’s 2-0 French Cup defeat in Corsica against Bastia on Saturday evening. Origi is now a doubt for Lille’s home league game with Evian on Wednesday evening. However the injury is not believed to be a serious and should not be a factor in scuppering the Belgian international’s chances of an early Anfield arrival as the Reds look to engineer a move for him before this month’s transfer window slams shut. LFC Loan Watch: Wins For Both Ibe & Wisdom

- Quote:
-
Author: Chris Shaw @shawct --It proved a largely positive weekend for Liverpool's contingent of on-loan players - find out all of the details with our latest round-up.
There was reason to celebrate for Andre Wisdom on Saturday - he played the entire match for West Bromwich Albion in a 1-0 home win over Hull City. So too for Jordon Ibe, who featured for 86 minutes as Derby County continued their challenge at the summit of the Championship by securing a 1-0 victory at Ipswich Town. Elsewhere in the division, Joao Carlos Teixeira was an unused substitute for Brighton & Hove Albion during their 1-0 result at Charlton Athletic.
In League Two, Academy trio Jack Dunn, Lloyd Jones and Kevin Stewart were helpless to prevent Cheltenham Town from losing 2-0 against Hartlepool United. That evening, midfielder Luis Alberto was introduced for the closing 12 minutes for Malaga, who played out a 1-1 draw with Villarreal in La Liga.
Divock Origi took to the field shortly before the hour mark for Lille - they achieved a 1-0 victory against Caen in Ligue 1. On Sunday, Iago Aspas remained on the bench as Sevilla ran out 2-0 winners over Almeria in Spain's top flight.

SB Nation - The Liverpool Offside: Liverpool Loan Ojo To Wigan

- Quote:
-
By Noel C @LFCOffside --Liverpool have officially confirmed their first deal of the day, with the club reporting that 17-year-old winger Sheyi Ojo has been loaned to Wigan Athletic for the remainder of the season. The Championship side will hope the talented youngster can make a difference, as they are currently in the midst of a relegation battle.
Whatever happens for Wigan in that battle, that experience along with regular playing time should prove useful to Ojo’s further development, and a loan at some point over the next year or two was always likely. The winger arrived at Liverpool from MK Dons in the summer of 2011 for an undisclosed fee and is one of the most promising players currently in the Liverpool Academy.
Though the U21 star has not yet made a first team appearance for the Reds, he was named to the matchday squad by Brendan Rodgers twice this season in games against Burnley and Leicester City. He has also represented England at the youth level.

LFC Loan Watch: Tiago Tops Tough Week

- Quote:

Author: Chris Shaw @shawct --A testing weekend for Liverpool's group of on-loan players did bring a highlight for one young defender - find out more with our latest round-up.
Sebastian Coates stayed on the bench as Sunderland drew 1-1 with Swansea City in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
In the Championship, Joao Carlos Teixeira featured for 90 minutes of Brighton & Hove Albion's 3-2 defeat against Nottingham Forest. At the same level, Academy forward Sheyi Ojo was introduced for the final half-hour for Wigan Athletic, who were overturned 3-1 by Bournemouth.
The damage had already been done before Lloyd Jones took to the field for Cheltenham Town on 77 minutes. They were beaten 3-1 at home by Burton Albion in League Two.
Later that day, Tiago Ilori played the entire game and helped Bordeaux record a clean sheet en route to a 1-0 victory at Evian TG in Ligue 1. Also in France, Belgium international Divock Origi played 20 minutes at the end of Lille's 2-1 win over Montpellier.
On Sunday afternoon, Andre Wisdom was an unused substitute for West Bromwich Albion in their 2-2 comeback draw against Burnley. Iago Aspas clocked up 56 minutes that evening in a 2-1 reversal for Sevilla in their La Liga encounter with Getafe.

- Quote:

Author: Chris Shaw @shawct --For the latest on Liverpool's contingent of players currently out on loan, read our weekly round-up. Early on Saturday, Andre Wisdom watched from the bench throughout West Bromwich Albion's 4-0 home victory over West Ham United in the FA Cup. At Championship level, Joao Carlos Teixeira featured for the entirety of a goalless draw for Brighton & Hove Albion at Sheffield Wednesday.
Divock Origi played the full match but found no way past Nice that evening as Lille were held to a 0-0 stalemate on home soil in Ligue 1.
Sebastian Coates was an unused substitute on Sunday as Sunderland were frustratingly eliminated from the FA Cup with a 2-0 loss at Bradford City. That same afternoon, young centre-back Tiago Ilori clocked up another 90 minutes and helped Bordeaux beat Saint-Etienne 1-0 in France.

LFC Loan Watch: Joao Strikes Twice As Brighton Win Thriller

- Quote:
-
Author: Phil Reade --Liverpool loanee Joao Carlos Teixeira scored two goals on Saturday afternoon to help inspire Brighton & Hove Albion to a 4-3 victory over Birmingham City in their Championship clash at the Amex Stadium. The Portuguese midfielder, who joined the Seagulls at the start of the current campaign on a temporary switch, helped Chris Hughton's side clinch their first victory in six matches as he chipped in with a brace. Inigo Calderon grabbed the other two goals as Brighton climbed above Rotherham United into 20th place in the standings, and in doing so, placed a three-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.
Teixeira struck the first goal of what would develop into a frenetic game of football when he cut in from the left and fired a low, right-footed shot under the body of Birmingham goalkeeper Darren Randolph.
Clayton Donaldson equalised for the visitors soon after and, just prior to the interval, Birmingham spurned a glorious opportunity to take the lead when Paul Caddis saw his penalty saved by Robbie Stockdale. Calderon made the visitors pay for their miss within five minutes of the restart as he restored Brighton's lead, before Teixeira struck again, this time from close range, to make it 3-1.
Wesley Thomas pulled one back for Birmingham; however, Calderon's second intervention rendered Lee Novak's late strike a mere consolation goal and confirmed a precious three points for Teixeira and co.
Elsewhere, Reds Academy starlet Sheyi Ojo, who joined Wigan Athletic on loan at the start of this month, was voted his side's Man of the Match as the Latics were defeated 3-0 by Charlton Athletic on Friday night. Ojo has made four appearances for the club so far, including an impressive debut against AFC Bournemouth, and he provided the crucial assist during his side's 1-0 win over Reading on Tuesday.

Liverpool keeper Ward joins Shrimps --Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward has joined League Two side Morecambe on loan for a month. The Wales Under-21 international moved to Anfield from Wrexham but is yet to make an appearance for the Reds. Ward, 21, who has been on the bench for the Premier League side 19 times, will become the Shrimps' sixth goalkeeper of the season if he makes an appearance. "Danny is a highly regarded goalkeeper and we look forward to working with him," said boss Jim Bentley.

SB Nation - The Liverpool Offside: Sebastien Coates Making A Home For Himself At Sunderland

- Quote:
-
By Noel C @LFCOffside --Sunderland are fighting for survival again this season, and again this season it appears increasingly likely that they will get to remain in England’s top flight for at least one more season. And, just like last year, a Liverpool loanee is once again key to their survival chances. Last time around, Fabio Borini’s goals were key to keeping the Black Cats up. This year, it’s Sebastian Coates at the other end.
After hardly playing under Gus Poyet, the arrival of Dick Advocaat in March saw Coates’ chances improving alongside the club’s, as Sunderland have fought their way out of the relegation zone and Coates has established himself as a regular. And increasingly—and rather surprisingly given the first half to the season—it has begun to appear as though Coates may have found himself a new, long-term home in the Premier League.
"He’s been very solid in the last couple of games," remarked his new manager. "That’s given him a lot of confidence. When you come in as a manager, you maybe have expectations for the players, and in the past he had hardly started a game. But we saw him improving in training and I was maybe not so happy with Santiago Vergini, so I thought we’d put him in. He’s done well and that’s the reason he’s still playing."
Sunderland are very nearly safe, and that is largely thanks to their improved form—and improved defensive play in particular—under Advocaat, who has taken them to 16th, three points clear of 18th place Hull City and with Newcastle sandwiched in between looking the most at-risk side not currently in the bottom three. They face a tough task to achieve mathematical safety, though, traveling to Arsenal tomorrow and Chelsea on Sunday.
"From the moment we arrived, the players have given everything," said the Sunderland manager. "They have been very positive with the way they have enjoyed the training, and that has been reflected in the results. We have fought to get the points, and with good organisation you can see what you can achieve."
